NASCAR in Texas

I'm a casual fan. I'll watch a little if I'm at home and whatnot. I will never be confused with the rabid fans that converged at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend in Ft. Worth. It was very cool though, something that really opens your eyes to just how big the sport is, how fast the cars are, and for such an immense gathering, it was ran as smooth as anything I've ever seen. I'm not going to give a blow by blow report, there's plenty of pics to follow that will tell a good enough story. Enjoy.

My seat for the weekend, which included full on meals, and of course an assortment of beverages.
Carl Edwards. The eventual winner on Sunday.
"Junior" was the overwhelming crowd favorite. People were wearing his gear probably 2:1 of all drivers combined.
Jeff Gordon is the guy most fans love to hate.I guess he's not okey enough(and he's from Cali).

Jimmie Johnson. Series leader, 2 time defending series champ and super cool guy. This lady in front thought he was so cool that she's expecting a wave back I'm sure. Now how do I know he a nice guy? Well...........

I got to go down to the garage area and meet with him before the race. He signed a hat , shook hands and was , well, a cool guy. It can't be easy doing all this meet and greet stuff just hours before competition. Notice he wasn't smiling as much as me. It's either because he can tell I shopped at Home Depot last week(he drives the Lowe's car) or he noticed my Jeff Gordon polo I was wearing...............whoops!

Did I mention there were a lot of people? It looked like this all around the complex. I saw some nice mullets too. Just didn't have the nerve to ask for a picture with them and their bad cut.

The Mrs. and I standing on the start/finish line. She's the one that made this all happen. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my first race. I'm spoiled now, I mean, how can I ever sit in the stands again. That suite was the way to go to watch a race.

I used to work a lot of the Nascar events. I met a couple of racers, I traded for a pair of crocs for autographs for my dad n' such ;)
