Any thoughts of getting out on the mtn bike was rudely interrupted by rain early Sat. a.m. Forecast called for "light rains or mist, no measurable amounts". Then I must have been the poor fool that had a rain target on me, because it rained on me steadily for over 2 hrs! It cleared up just in time for me to clean up the bike, and myself for that matter, for Sundays group ride.
Sunday was clear and crisp as we headed out 16 or so riders strong for what would be a 2.5 hr ride north towards McCook.
I learned the ropes of "roadie etiquette" as the pace got higher and higher. Not a lot of details to share. My fitness is good right now though, at one point, only Dirk and I were left after turning the screws on the group and dropping everyone else on the way back. We let up, got everyone back together and finished strong back to town.
My first road group ride was a success, I'll be back for more.

Mountain Biker makes Roadies take notice. They road with Mr. Farmer. They wont forget that ride. OUCH! That hurt.
You screw turner! Next time I'm gonna grab your seatpost and hold you back. Great ride on Sunday once my teeth stopped chattering.
Hey from mom in California, I am very proud of you and can't to see you in Tahoe in September.
