Finished up a full week of good training today, but holy shit has the wind really kicked up in South Tex!
Early week spins, followed by mid week intervals. Finished off with a couple of miles in the dirt yesterday and 2 more on the road this morning in howling winds. Now the taper begins, Mas O Menos in less than a week.
Rode with Dirk yesterday. I always like my workouts with him. All business, and even though we were both riding controlled efforts, it just feels like a better workout than when I'm by myself. He's meticulous with his training, so I could learn some things from him for sure. Just a little bit of history on Dirk: represented Team USA on the 2005 world masters mountain bike squad(that's the kind of experience I mean).
The confirmed riders list is up for M-O-M. An impressive group will toe the line for sure. My group alone is 30 deep. I'm getting anxious already. Looking forward to seeing how I'm progressing in my training. It's going to be a fast, flowing course with 2 big climbs to weed out the weak. Let's just hope it's not me that gets weeded out!
