.....a quick recap. Got to start up near the front with the big boys, but they're pros for a reason, The start was fast,so I tucked into the back of the lead group entering the single track after the 2ish mile climb at the start. The first hour was super fun trail with a fair share of quick little climbs thrown in to get things sorted out. Once we got to the wide open dirt roads, the course pointed up. There was some short downhill sections to rest the legs a bit and I was making up some spots when I punctured my rear tire. Used a trusty roadside twig to fill the hole and let my Stans do the rest.
We continued to climb up to aid station 3, just past the 50 mile mark. Took in some quick food, another bottle, filled up my camelbak and was off for what was supposed to be the easier half of the race........riiiight. Though the steady climbing was done, we had our fair share, not to mention the flat sections that had a slight headwind. We were treated to 12 miles of single track to end the race, but at that point, you just want the quickest way to the finish line.
Finished up in 7hr 58min. Not sure what place, nothing has been posted yet, but I felt pretty good with the effort. Legs were good throughout, with no cramps or stomach issues. There are some other issues that can be solved that will definitely make me faster, so I'm optimistic for the Mohican 100 in late May.
Stay tuned for more Cohutta news and pics.

Congratulations!!!!!!
Your time would have placed you 18 in 2008, 27 in 2007, and 3 in 2006. You beat Floyd Landis time from last year.
Results are in!!!
