What a difference!

The way I feel after Mohican is night/day compared to Cohutta. As I ponder as to why, there are a few contributing factors:

1- came down with a cold 2 days before Cohutta.....Mohican, healthy.
2- back was super stiff going into Cohutta....Mohican, limber as a noodle.
3- my training really picked up in intensity after Cohutta.
4- I knew what to expect at Mohican as far as intensity of the race, and just how much I would suffer for about 8hrs.

The workouts this week were easy, just to get the legs stretched out. Hit the trails this morning for a couple hrs. and felt fantastic! Back to normal in a week.......yes!

Hitting the group ride in the morning on the road. Looking for a hard one. I'm sure I'll get one if all the usual suspects are there.

Did the group ride hammer hard enough? Arjen and I turned off for an extra mileage detour. Plus, big group with a few dangerous riders was scaring us.

Good hard one for me, especially when I slipped off the back and had to play catch up. I saw you guys turn left, but thought the group would turn east and meet up with you down the road.....oops! Dangerous for sure, one of the guys locked up the brakes at about 25 mph and we all scattered. After that is was way dis-organized.....I should have turn left with you and Arjen.
You doing the "Ride to no where" race next wknd?

Arjen and I should have communicated better. I thought some other folks were going with us. But that's okay -- I'm taking a laid back approach to the group dynamic these days.

I might be able to be talked into racing, but I'm being picky these days about who I pay to "let" me ride! Do you know who else is racing? Send me an email at contreras dot jeff at gmail dot com...
