Saddled up on the road bike for a nice long ride before the feeding frenzy began yesterday. There were a few things I noticed that made the ride somewhat entertaining.
1) An old redneck drove by in his beat up Ford van with a bumper sticker that read "Osama Bin Laden is a punk sissy"......that made me laugh out loud.
2) Passed by a lot of other riders, most waved, but there are still the one's that refuse to acknowledge you even when your a stones throw away. I'm not sure where this elitist attitude developed, but for all you beginner riders out there, it's OK to throw a shout out to a fellow rider out there on the road.
3) When your 30 miles from home, there are no cars or signs of civilization to be seen, and it's just me and my bike (and some good tunes in my ear), well, that's a pretty good day.
Made my way back to town, ate some good food, and threw back some Shiners as a recovery drink. A good day indeed.
