California Love
Hey all, still in Cali as I write this, wedding was good, riding was fantastic.Rode the Lemurian long course Friday.I was expecting my flat lander Texas legs to hurt me, but they felt great.Rode with Zac, who's racing the sport course next weekend, he wasn't lovin' the ride as much.Met up with Steve Pyles and crew for a quick Saturday morning spin out the westside trails, Cato's cut-off, and all the new(since I moved) Swasey area trails. That new trail up to Mule mountain pass is nice, although not quite all the way through.Looks like it's only about a few hundred more yards to the pass. I had to cut the ride short and split for the wedding. This mornings ride was solo.Took off from Darolds casa about 10am, over the Diestlehorse bridge, and out the south side of the river trail, anticipating the short rocky singletrack up towards Steve's place. Dang Steve, how did you get that new trail cut in? It was a pleasant surprise, although I imagine the traffic will increase. Hit the westside trails(snow showers), over Muletown(more snow showers), and into the park for some more singletrack(still more snow showers). Sure didn't feel that cold though, the sun popping through every now and then helped the ol' tootsies! 3 hours and 3 gels later, headed back into town for a nice hot shower. I head back to Texas tomorrow night on the red eye, and get ready for the 6hrs of Brownsville Saturday. I miss my ladies, looking forward to being home........J
