Finally, I can see the light at the end of my racing tunnel. Aug. 17th I'll be heading about 6 hrs deep into Mexico for race #1 of their National Marathon Series. The race is in Iturbide,MX. Looking at the profile, there's one big climb (approx 700 m) at about the 35 mile mark. This should make it interesting seeing as there will be still 15 miles left in the race. I'm hoping all this training in the wind will come in handy once we hit that ball buster, not to mention I just like the hills. That's what happens when you only weigh 145 lbs.
Heading out to Cali. for my sisters wedding this weekend. Should be fun. Get to see friends and family, and get some training in of course. I bought that hard case to haul my bike around so no more damage to the bike, just a couple days of Nor-Cal bliss. Planning on a 50-60 miler on Saturday that should give me about 5,000 ft. of vertical total. That should get me ready for Iturbide. I have my Garmin 305 now, so I'll be able to know for sure.
