dirt and wind

............that sums up the 4hr training ride yesterday. After getting back in the swing of things last week, headed out for 4 hrs yesterday on the mountain bike. Very little pavement which was nice for a change, but a lot of wide open dirt road and levees to hammer the legs.
Took my "levee" route down to MT, where I met up with Kyle. Having a riding partner was nice for a change. After sampling the dirt down there for 1+ hrs, hopped on the levees once again and headed out to SC. There was a little pavement to be had, but the tailwind had us comfortably cruising along at 21-22mph on the knobbies.......nice.
Once out at SC, put in another 2 and a half laps to take me up to 4hrs and nearly 60 miles. The short punchy climbs out there were a great way to end the workout. The legs felt super all day, it's amazing how coach seems to know my body better than I do.
Back to the intensity this week and back2back long rides next wknd, gotta get my body ready for those hundies.
