Gold in them hills

In and around the foothills of the old pad out west, you could find remnants of the gold rush days . This is one of the unnamed mine shafts we would pass along our rides. Not far from this, there is still a gold mining company running 16 hrs a day pulling some of that golden goodness to light. There are still old towns like French Gulch, Shasta, and Keswick that still have old buildings standing from the 1800's. Below is the old French Gulch Hotel, as it was back in the day. They still have rooms you can rent, and serve up a tasty menu in the restaurant during the busier months.......if those buildings could talk......
