The local mtb race here was a success Sat. There were about 60 total racers toeing the line, good for the first annual. I set up the Bicycle World tent and did some adjustments for the racers, fixed flats, etc. It was good to be there in that capacity.
Congrats to Marty Garza for first overall, followed closely by Chris Woods. There was even a little cash taken home for their efforts, which always makes it worth the pain.
Saddled up the road bike early Sun. for a 5-6 hr effort that I wanted to make at least a 100 mile day.
Set out heading east towards Harlingen on FM107. Took that all the way past Combs, to FM 508 which rolled me around the back side of the Harlingen airport. Headed through H-town proper, caught onto Bus 83 all the way back west to Mission, and worked my way back home in Edinburg. Total ride mileage was 103 @ 5hr 35 min. Not bad for a solo effort. It was already 100 degrees at noon when I was rolling through town at the end, but I was able to finish up with some good tempo(into the wind of course) for the final stretch home.
Felt fairly human after the effort, fueled up, took a nap(whhaat!) and just chilled the rest of the day.
More of the same this week. A couple high intensity efforts on tap, little mtb next Sat. and a group ride Sun.
Sounds like fun.

Will spin a little this PM starting around 5:30p. Will you be on the road?
No PM training for me. I'm lucky enough to have the time to get my workouts done in the a.m. Maybe I'll see you this wknd. One of the days I want to do the group ride.
