A fairly tame start to the race saw me jump ahead of Tinker for about 5 seconds to lead the race ....very briefly. I hung out with the top 5-7 for a while, but as things pointed up, I needed to ride my own pace. A long day, moon dust/rocky single track, super fast jeep road descents, and climb after climb punished us all. No mechanical issues was great, and the scenery was unbelievable, even though most of it is still a blur. To top off the day, we finished with 5+\- mile uphill climb to the finish........brutal!
Ended the day 11th in the pro\expert men. Best result of the year on the big scene, though a lot of the top dogs skipped this one. Still not bad though.
Spending the rest of the week out here in Cali. Already have done some great rides, looking to do some more......more on that later.
